Thermal Decomposition of Olive-Mill Byproducts: A TG-FTIR Approach
نویسندگان
چکیده
In this study, the combustion of olive byproducts was investigated using TG-FTIR technique. Different types biomass were considered: twigs, leaves, olive-mill waste from two-phase decanting method, and wastewater three-phase system. The reaction regions, ignition, burnout temperatures at different heating rates determined TG/DTG analysis thermogravimetry results. Comprehensive combustion, burnout, flammability indexes also calculated. highest index values obtained for system, followed by then with leaves small twigs. order indicated that sample process ignited more quickly yielded faster. changes in activation energy calculated model-free isoconversional methods—Friedman, Ozawa–Flynn–Wall, Kissinger–Akahira–Sunose—fell within range 130–140 kJ/kmol. FTIR analyses presented differences exhaust gas composition specific temperature ranges.

Thermal Decomposition Behavior of Hydroxytyrosol (HT) in Nitrogen Atmosphere Based on TG-FTIR Methods.
The thermal decomposition behavior of olive hydroxytyrosol (HT) was first studied using thermogravimetry (TG). Cracked chemical bond and evolved gas analysis during the thermal decomposition process of HT were also investigated using thermogravimetry coupled with infrared spectroscopy (TG-FTIR). Thermogravimetry-Differential thermogravimetry (TG-DTG) curves revealed that the thermal decompositi...
متن کاملMicronutrient dynamics after thermal pretreatment of olive mill solid waste.
This study investigated metal dynamics, and their bioavailability, before and after thermal pretreatment of olive mill solid waste (OMSW), using a sequential metal extraction scheme. The 11.5% increase of cobalt in the most available fraction after the pretreatment coupled to the increase of methane production rate have been a good indicator that the OMSW anaerobic digestion might be metal limi...
متن کاملAntimicrobial Activity of Olive Mill Waters (Alpechin) and Biotransformed Mill Wastewater Waste- Olive Oil
Olive oil extraction produces a great volume of residue. These olive mill wastes are known as alpechin. This wastewater is a powerful pollutant, resistant to degradation and presents a severe environmental problem related to its high organic content made up largely of simple phenolic compounds, that have been described as being both antimicrobial and phytotoxic. This paper reviews briefly the a...
متن کاملThe Microbiology of Olive Mill Wastes
Olive mill wastes (OMWs) are high-strength organic effluents, which upon disposal can degrade soil and water quality, negatively affecting aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems. The main purpose of this review paper is to provide an up-to-date knowledge concerning the microbial communities identified over the past 20 years in olive mill wastes using both culture-dependent and independent approache...
